Remember The Horse?

Think football games and the marching band. Just listen to The Horse and you will remember.

Remember the Norsemans?

They did so many things. I remember having to run to our firedrill stations and being allowed to knock people down trying to catch the person who pulled the fire alarm. What do you remember?

Madrigal Feast

Did you ever attend, work, or entertain at a Madrigal Feast? The music was fantastic. Working the kitchen was actually a little fun. Everyone had a blast. Thanks to St. Pauls United Methodist Church for hosting this event.

Gas was $0.55/gallon

And that was expensive with 8 cylinder cars. What did you drive? Do you know it's mileage? Or did you have an economy car due to the fuel shortage.

TPing Peoples Houses

Are you guilty? Were you a victim? Confess your sins. Come share how you explained it to your parents.

Homecoming Parades

Do you remember homecoming parades? Did you come out and watch? Were you in the parade? Share your memories about the parade.

Viking Day

Remember Viking Day? I found pictures from the 1978 Viking Day. Apparently there was a mud pit! LOL I think it was for the tug-o-war game near the baseball field. I don't remember who threw me in. And Val WAS in white. LOL Were there others?

Booster Adds

Remember the yearbook booster adds? They were great. We used to try to figure out who said what. We'd post our own that were so extremely vague, but your B/T/Fs knew exactly what you were talking about!

Elective Program

Who remembers the elective program? I remembered this program but couldn't remember the year. I found this story in the 1978 Valhalla, page 102.

"Each year the elective program was slightly different with the dropping of a course or the gaining of a new one. Most students were always looking forward to the second semester, because this was when the elective program went into effect. Students could choose the course they wanted to take third and fourth nine weeks. ... We had so-called "locked in" classes the first semester, where each grade level acquired a specific aspect of study. Freshman English for the most part dealt with the basic grammar. ... Being a Sophomore meant you had to ... apply [freshman grammar] when writing a well structured composition. ... Juniors were acquainted with American Literature ... and other authors were studied by Seniors."

Senior Prank....Building "The Wall" in the bus tunnel

Can't remember the entire construction crew and don't want to incriminate, the the theme from Pink Floyd's recent release seemed like a good idea at the time.

Woodbridge versus Garfield

Remember when Woodbridge, Lakeridge, and Dale City were small enough to have 2 high schools? Rivalry was easy to define - them/us. Then add that the two schools had the same floor plan and it was truly up to the students to be the difference. Now, with all the new schools to accommodate population growth, is the rivalry between Woodbridge and Garfield the same?

Friday Night Dances

The basketball court becoming the dance floor on Friday nights after football and basketball games. Walking around with buddies trying to dig up enough courage to ask a girl to dance. Favorite song - Stairway to Heaven. Nice long song to dance with someone you liked. We liked to drink a few before the dances and still don't know how we got passed the door with red eyes and breath wreaking of alcohol :-)
